Getting a handwritten note from one of your country music heroes is pretty cool, even if YOU’RE a country star. Jake Owen was so excited about a letter he got from Ronnie Dunn, that he posted it on his Instagram story.
The caption read: “Came home off the road, checked the mailbox, and freaked out getting a handwritten note from one of my country music heroes. Thanks for being a legend, for the music, and thanks for another kick-a** honky-tonk album.
“Country music is alive and well and I’m still a giddy fan getting stuff like this.”
He’s since removed the post. Guess he decided some things are best kept private.
The honky-tonk record he’s talking about is Ronnie’s new album, “100 Proof Neon”. . . which drops Friday. (After Midnite)
And if you haven’t seen it, Jake Owen’s “1X1” video is out, and like the song, it seems kind of autobiographical. He’s alone, but as he sings about meeting the person who changed his life, the world around him comes alive.
It’s filled with images of people in loving relationships enjoying family life. Last we heard, Jake and his fiancée Erica Hartlein are still trying to figure out a wedding date.
