Is A Shreveport Woman Being Canceled on Social Media for Saying She Throws Away Her Kids’ Halloween Candy

A no-nonsense parent on Twitter said she has a Halloween “tradition” where, after her kids go to sleep on Halloween night, she throws away all their trick-or-treating candy.

Now, this woman wasn’t from the ArkLaTex – but, honestly it reminds me of a few people I know in the Shreveport area – so, it honestly could be. LOL

She said she FORGOT this year, and when her nine-year-old woke up and saw the candy was still there, they gave her hugs and kisses.

Initially, the woman was getting support . . . but then it started trending, and she says that once it “escaped the orbit” of her followers, she started getting a LOT of backlash, with some people accusing her of bad parenting and even ABUSE.

She doesn’t care though.  She said she believes it’s reasonable to not allow her kids to “gorge themselves on candy for an indefinite period of time.”

She added that she isn’t mean . . . people are just looking at a “less varnished picture of parenting.”  She also had some fun with the comments.  One person said, “Why don’t they just hide the candy from you?”  And she said, “They probably do.”
