He may be Canadian, but I’m guessing he has no French-ties based on his pronunciations of our Louisiana cities.

I can’t judge this TikToker too hard. I’ve lived here my entire life and I still have issues pronouncing some of our great cities. Atchafalaya, Mowata, and Tangipahoa to name a few

However, like most of my fellow Louisianians, I can nail most of our cities and it always brings be great joy hearing an outsider give it a shot. Obviously, hearing a non-Louisianian pronounce Grosse Tete, Natchitoches, and Opelousas is classic entertainment.

Canadian TikToker, Kopke613, tried to pronounce our lovely cities. Keyword, “Try”. There’s no doubt that my guy has comedy on his mind while pronouncing our cities, but the results are still fantastic.

He didn’t fail with a 0%, I believe he crushed the pronunciation of the Northwest Louisiana town of Kickapoo. God bless Kickapoo.

His greatest failure was his attempt at Opelousas. Naturally, it came out as, “Oppie-Loose-Ass”. Yes, I’m filing a petition to make his pronunciation the correct one for Opelousas from now on.
