Rising country music star, Parker McCollum, is in hot water in the Ark-La-Tex following a verbal dig towards Bossier City over the weekend.
Before we break down what was said, allow me to state the obvious two points… Number one, it was absolutely a dig towards Bossier City. Number two, he was definitely sick at his Baton Rouge concert. Both of those statements can be true. Now let’s dive in…
In case you missed the news, a video went viral in our area from Parker McCollum’s Baton Rouge concert, and it went viral for all the wrong reasons. For quite some time, Shreveport-Bossier residents were excited to see the return of Parker McCollum to our area. He was set to perform at our Brookshire’s Grocery Arena Saturday in front of what should have been a packed house. Unfortunately, days before the concert, Parker wasn’t feeling well. He still powered through to complete his Baton Rouge tour stop, before ultimately cancelling and rescheduling his Bossier City show.
Naturally, no one in their right mind would be upset about this. It’s unfortunate, but it’s life and these things happen. However, it’s what Parker said on stage at his Baton Rouge stop that has folks in the Ark-La-Tex a little upset.
To kick-off his show in Baton Rouge, he informed the crowd that he was contemplating cancelling the show that night. He told them this to get a loud pop on the next line, where he said essentially ” I ain’t missing Baton Rouge”. The crowd went wild, naturally, and no one in Shreveport-Bossier would have a reason to be upset if he just stopped there. Of course, he didn’t, and in the next line he told the crowd he’ll just cancel Bossier City instead.
It was absolutely a shot at Bossier City, meant to be a compliment towards the local crowd in Baton Rouge and a dig at our area.
His Bossier City show has been rescheduled for March 31st. After hearing his comments in Baton Rouge, will you still attend and support his show in Bossier?
