The trial for second-degree murder of rapper Hurricane Chris (real name Christopher Jerron Dooley) began on March 6, 2023 in Judge John D. Mosely Jr.’s court.

Four men and eight women were selected as the jury, and the proceedings began with opening statements and initial testimony by the state on March 10.

Dooley was indicted in connection with the June 19, 2020 slaying of Danzeria Farris Jr. at a Texaco station, and he is also charged with the illegal possession of a stolen car that was associated with the murder.
