Today is “Give for Good Day” in the ArkLaTex!

Today, May 2nd, is a special day for North Louisiana – it’s Give For Good Day! This is an annual online giving event put together by the Community Foundation of North Louisiana, aimed at supporting and celebrating the work of local nonprofit organizations.

One of the most unique things about Give For Good is that it truly makes everyone feel like a philanthropist. Anyone can participate, donate, and make a difference, no matter what level of financial resources they have. In 2022, the event raised nearly $2.4 million, distributed to 214 organizations, thanks to over 8,000 gifts from community members just like you.

The event is more than just a way to raise money for nonprofits, though. Give For Good is also a day of celebration and recognition for the hard work that nonprofits do in our communities. It’s a way for us to come together and show our support and appreciation for the incredible impact that these organizations have on the lives of those around us.

To get involved, North Louisiana nonprofits start registering for Give For Good in January. They create their online profiles, making it easy for community members to browse and discover new causes. On the day of the event, donors can make their donations through giveforgoodnla.org, which is hosted by the Community Foundation.

The real-time leaderboard makes it easy to track progress, see how much has been raised, and learn about the amazing work that’s being done by North Louisiana nonprofits. And if that wasn’t exciting enough, there are also some additional funds and prizes up for grabs. Nonprofits can compete for a portion of the $230,000 Lagniappe Fund, as well as over $20,000 in prizes.

When it comes down to it, Give For Good is all about celebrating and strengthening our community. By coming together, we can show our support for some of the most impactful and deserving organizations in North Louisiana. It’s a day to feel good, give back, and make a meaningful difference – let’s do this!
