The Oxford English Dictionary couldn’t make just one pick for their “Word of the Year” because they say, quote, “It quickly became apparent that 2020 is not a year that could neatly be accommodated in one single word of the year.”  So they picked several words, including COVID-19, work-from-home, lockdown, Black Lives Matter, and social distancing.
